Resistors
A resistor slows down the current in a circuit, but still allows electricity to pass.
If a light bulb is only glowing dimly, the circuit is probably encountering resistance.
Think about this scenario: You are the electrical current. You are running along the sidewalk (the connection, or the conductor). You encounter a big pool of mud and have to wade through it. The mud acts as a resistor, since it slows you down but doesn’t make you stop.
